I hope everyone is having a great 2012 so far.  Big things are coming this year!

Tomorrow is my last day at my current job.  I will be very sad to leave my friends but I will not miss other things.  With that said, my boss was wonderful and the environment was very positive.  I just needed to move on.

This is the first time in a long while, I am the one saying good bye.  I don’t like it but its mixed with excitement and a bit of anxiety too.

Some good things about this job:

• I am the main MT there.
• I can wear anything I want, as long as it is black.
• I can use the lotion/cream/oil I want and they will order it for me.
• They have been there for a long time -with a lovely rep.
• Everyone seems really nice and friendly towards the new girl.
• I get to shop for some new work clothes!

Some “bad” things about this job:

• My best-est buddies won’t be there and I will miss them.
• I have to learn a TON of new names of the lovely ladies (and gent) that work there.
• The drive is a bit further (10 mi vs. 3.4 mi)
• I have to drive Rt 130
• I have big, lovely shoes to fill.

So with a touch of anxiety but a lot of excitement, I enter the next phase of my career.  I will be posting more very soon.  Starting with some fan fic that has won some awards in the past.  It’s an oldy but goody universe, the classic Stargate SG-1.  There will also be a few new pages/organization to separate the fan fic from the original fic.  Don’t worry, it’s not a revamp of the site, just some needed housekeeping.

As always, I love feedback so please tell me what you think, if you liked the story posted or what color socks you are wearing.

Some personal firsts this week as well.  Some I can talk about and some I can not quite yet.  It’s all good stuff too!

I’m trying to figure out what story to post next.  One of my great friends had a on line library of fan fic but because she is bravely taking the steps to becoming a true self published author, she has made some changes to her site.  If the fan fic section is indeed gone, I might put those up next.

Update:  I had to go to the dentist today.  Last time I was there and he told me I needed fillings, he told me that he might have to pull one of my wisdom teeth if he couldn’t get to the cavity.  The idea of a tooth getting pulled scares me to no end.  It doesn’t help that when I was chatting with my mom (Hi Mom!) she further scared me when she reminded me that teeth move and my teeth are pretty good looking.  Its a vanity thing but I like how my teeth look.  I survived all my wisdom teeth growing in and none are impacted.  I was teething as my two older children were teething.

The scene where Inigo Montoya, played by Mandy Patinkin, is finally getting his chance at revenge against the “six fingered man” (Count Tyrone Rugen, played by Christopher Guest) is very dramatic and for the first time watching the scene, it made me think more about the character’s driving goal in life.  All Inigo wanted was to have his revenge on the “six fingered man”, the man who murdered his father when he was only a small boy.  Normally I focus on how many times Inigo says “My Name is Inigo Montoya.  You killed my father.  Prepare to die.”  This time I really listened to how he said it.  It was amazing to hear how that line could be said so many ways but that entire line was Inigo’s sole purpose in life.

Like any great fight scene, and especially with swords, Inigo almost looses but his drive to get revenge for his father brings him back from the edge of loosing, or possibly death, to gaining the upper hand and victory.

I have been doing a lot of personal development and improvement over the last few months.  This was the first time that I connected Inigo’s focus in life to what I have been studying and working on.  It was a very powerful moment to me to take a movie I have been watching for decades and actually learn something new from it.

The answer is, yes, it has been.

I just read my last entry and I was instantly transported to my life last December.  It feels so long ago.  I remember studying for exam and excited that I was graduating.  Since that day in December, I got my first job as a Massage Therapist, my husband came home from Iraq for good, I got a second job (but still doing job number 1) and my youngest child started kindergarten were only some of the things that happened.

Over the weekend, I will get the last chapters of “Second Chances” up for all to read and then do a give-away to be announced early next week.

So why am I posting now?  Because things are settling down a bit in my life and I missed posting.  I need a bit of a creative outlet and I hope this does the trick.

Life is a funny thing.  It keeps moving and changing.

Two more night classes and three more Anatomy classes to go!  Really looking forward to finishing up here and moving onto working as a Massage Therapist.  I’ll still write but it will be for me (and for you guys out on the web).  That’s really who I write for anyway – myself.  It might be a bit greedy but when you write, you are alone with just your characters to amuse you.  That’s why I write for myself first.

I’m not complaining at all though.  I am very lucky to be able to go to school and its a bit sad that it is almost all over.  I’m going to miss my friends but they are all on Facebook so we’ll be able to keep in touch plus we all need to take CEU classes.

So, today, Beth is still in London and there are things to do before the wedding.

I’ve really been having fun sharing this story with everyone and wondering what kind of story to put up next.  Should it be the girl next door kind of story or a princess?  Still working on the ST:TNG story that I started this summer.  If you guys have a preference on what you want to read next, please let me know.
