I can’t believe it’s May already! May 2, 2008

April seemed to fly by, like most months seem to do. I have to report that I did not “win” Script Frenzy this year but I still feel very accomplished for getting as far as I did.

I wrote 70 pages out of the 100 page goal. I know what needs to be done to finish it up I just ran out of time. I know I could list all the reasons why I did not finish on time, but really it just came down to me and I accept that. (It didn’t help that I watched WAY too many hockey playoff games towards the end too.)

How I see the whole thing, if I had buckled down just a bit harder I would have gotten there but at the same time, I’ve never written a script before so there was a bit of a learning curve to the process. I know there are mistakes in it but I don’t care about that at the moment. That’s something for a workshop or some kind of teacher to help me through. The cool thing is, I wrote 70% or so of a movie script! That feels real good. “Winning” would have been icing on the cake.

The best thing is, there is always next year!

What I did this weekend. April 14, 2008

I had quite a productive weekend despite having to do “family” stuff as well.  My script has both a name and I’m up to page 40 out of at least 100.  The working title is “The Reluctive Queen”.  Maybe, someday in my “free time” (ha!) I’ll make it into a novel.  At least I am getting the idea down on paper and not getting it lost in my head.

Two of my fan fiction stories are now in several competitions and I am very excited about that.  I’m going to try and figure out what the best way to post them will be so that all of you can read them although they are posted on a friend’s website for now.  When its time to vote I will be sure to put a link here so all of you can check it all out.  (Can’t say “and to vote for me”.  That’s against the rules.)

Long time no write April 10, 2008

Its been so long since I’ve made an entry but everything her in the real world has been very busy.

The book, Thunder and Lightning, is coming along well and is still scheduled to come out in the fall.   I am so excited about this and can not wait to see what it is going to look like.

Other projects I am working on include follow up stories to T&L and several other books as well.  I’m also particpating in Script Frenzy 2008 and that has been a ton of fun so far.  The goal is to write a 100 (or more) page script from beginning to end in the month of April.  I’m on task and over the 20 page mark.   I’ll make sure to post if I reach that goal or not.

I’d better get back to the script to stay on track and still be able to do all my other writing (and the rest of things that I need to do in my life).
